Discord Bot

Our bot handles role management, slash commands, DM automations, and audit logging in your Discord server.

Setup

Invite the Bot

During onboarding, click Invite Bot to add the bot to your server.

Grant Permissions

Grant the bot the Manage Roles permission.

Configure Role Hierarchy

Ensure the bot's role is above the roles it needs to assign in the role hierarchy.
Role Hierarchy is Important
If the bot's role is below the roles it needs to assign, it will fail to assign them and you will see errors in your audit logs.

Automated Actions

The bot performs these actions automatically based on subscription lifecycle events:

Role Management

  • Role assignment — instantly assigns configured Discord roles when a subscription is activated
  • Role removal — automatically removes roles when a subscription ends, is cancelled (at period end), or payment fails after the grace period
  • Role restoration — when a member leaves and rejoins the server, the bot checks for active subscriptions and restores roles automatically

DM Automations

Configure automated DMs in Settings → Bot. Each type can be individually enabled/disabled with custom messages:

  • Welcome DM — sent when a new subscriber purchases. Includes package details and a thank-you message.
  • Renewal Reminder — sent 3 days before renewal date with subscription details and a link to manage billing.
  • Payment Failed — sent when a payment attempt fails. Includes a link to update payment method.
  • Cancellation Confirmation — confirms cancellation with end-of-period date.
  • Trial Ending — notifies 3 days before a free trial expires.
  • Re-engagement — optional message sent to churned members after a configurable delay.

Audit Channel

Designate a channel for the bot to post all subscription events. Configure in Settings → Server by selecting an audit channel. Events include:

  • New subscriptions
  • Renewals and payments
  • Cancellations and expirations
  • Payment failures
  • Role changes
  • Admin actions (grant/revoke)

Troubleshooting

Bot can't assign roles

Ensure the bot's role is positioned above the target role in your server's role hierarchy (Server Settings → Roles → drag the bot role higher).

Commands not showing

Slash commands may take up to 1 hour to propagate globally. Try restarting Discord or checking that the bot has the applications.commands scope.
